BEFORE!
So this is Serena! This is what her room looks like from the door and if you look down.

Serena's hair and makeup products, along with a shelf for book and a shelf for magazines. Overall, I did not do much with the books or magazines, but we made some small adjustments to the hair product shelf (the "After" picture is closer up)

AFTER!
The top drawer.
How We Did It: You really can't see how much stuff was in it before, but Serena had tons of small shampoo and conditioners, as well as lotions and body washes. We consolidated these into the pink bag, so when she goes on a vacation, she can just grab the pink bag and go! Everything is in one place and it's really easy to throw in your overnight bag or suitcase. The three bottles to the left of the pink bag are for longer trips. There are other various items in the drawer, including skin care products, feminine products, and contacts, basic things she needs on an every day basis. The reason we did not take pictures of the other drawers was because they were organized already!
The hair and makeup product shelf
How We Did It: You can see that we really spent our energy on the hair product shelf, because as you can see, her makeup is already organized the way she needs it to be (a post on makeup organization is coming up soon!)
For the hair products, we sorted it into two categories: which products she uses on a regular basis (left side), and which products don't get used that often (right side). It was hard to see on the "Before"picture, but she had a mixture of product on that shelf, not just haircare.
We separated that, therefore making it look more organized. Serena really likes to be able to see all her products, which is a great way to see what you have, and what you need to purchase, so we decided to make the line between the two sides clear by putting the perfume in the middle.
The view from the door
How? This was the easy part; picking up the clothes and putting things where they belong.
Bed View
How? Honestly, just making your bed makes your room look a lot neater. Face it: unless you live at a hotel or have multiple pillows and sheets, its just a matter of lifting up the blankets and/or sheets, setting them down, and a little smoothing and tucking, fluff the pillows, and you're good to go (a post on this coming up soon!)
Floor
How? Simple! Your mom probably told you that it takes the same amount of time to take your clothes off and throw them on the floor than it does to put them away. And she's right! You're going to have you pick them up, even if you put them on the floor a few days ago, so why don't you just hang them up or throw them in the hamper anyway?
I hope I didn't bore you to death! This whole room/closet organizing/cleaning event only took two and a half hours, and that's because Serena and I both agreed that we would rather get it done in one fell swoop than split it up. You can take anything and break it into chunks, which is what I do on a daily basis. I'm more of a let's-get-it-done-in-a-few-hours! kind of person, but splitting it up into littler pieces isn't bad either. I hope this post inspired you to get a little more organized, if you're not already, and I'll definitely talk to you soon!
